Morning Show Notes - Wednesday, April 13th

-Our Augusta Riverhawks lost on the road to Mississippi last night in the first game of the championship series. They play again tonight and will be at home Friday night at 7:30 at the James Brown Arena. Game 4 will be Saturday in Augusta, if needed. Game 5 will be in Biloxi, if needed.

-John went a screening of the new Sherwood Pictures movie Courageous last night in Columbia. This is the latest from the makers of Facing the Giants and Fireproof. This movie says everything men need to hear about being a godly father. It's quite different from any of their other movies and the best one yet on so many levels. -A California principal is selling her shoe collection online in an effort to raise funds that will save the jobs of teachers who face potential layoffs. When has someone done a selfless act to help you? Join the conversation on the 88.3 WAFJ Facebook page.

Simple Cooking - Chicken Pizza Primavera

Ingredients
Ranch Dressing
Chicken
2 rolls of Refigerated Pizza Dough
spinach (can be fresh or frozen, just make sure frozen is completely thawed and drained)
Italian Seasoning
Garlic Salt
Cheese of your choice (I like to use italian 3 cheese blend, but mozerella works just fine as well)
Cooking spray

Directions
Chop chicken and cook in skillet on stove. While that is cooking spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and lay out the refigerated roll dough. Then spray the top of the dough, sprinkle with garlic salt and cover with a thin layer of cheese. Cook this at 350 for ten minutes or until cheese is melted and crust is golden brown.

Spread ranch dressing over the crust (this takes the place of pizza sauce), spread out the chicken and spinach, sprinkle with italian seasoning, and cover with desired amount of cheese. Return to oven to cook at 350 for 17 minutes or until cheese is melted.

-Our Augusta Riverhawks are in the championship series of the Southern Professional Hockey League. They play Mississippi tomorrow night and Wednesday night away and then come back home Friday, with a Saturday home and a Sunday away game if necessary. They need a great crowd Friday night at the James Brown Arena to help them win the league title!

-Our movie guy, Bob Waliszewski, from Focus on the Family gave us the family-friendly perspective on the weekend's new movies. Bob says that Arthur and Hanna are not family picks, but Soul Surfer is a clear winner for families.

-Our Augusta Riverhawks ice hockey team is in the playoff semifinals tonight against Columbus at the James Brown Arena. The puck drops at 7:30 PM. The winner of this series goes on to the championship game, so our guys need a lot of fan support tonight.

-Rory McIlroy started today's play at the Masters sharing the lead with Alvaro Quiros. The day before the Masters started, though, he found himself struggling to play football. Read more
