Things We Talked About Today

-October is Clergy Appreciation Month. You still have some time to do something special for your pastor. It's nice to have a month dedicated to honoring our pastors, but we hope you'll make it a year-round habit. A gift is a nice gesture, but even if you just send them a card with a special note, that be just the encouragement that they need! Don't forget the support pastors on staff too.

-Bob Waliszewski, our movie guy from Focus on the Family, gave us his take on the documentary, I Want Your Money. He says it is a conservative-leaning look at the vision of Ronald Reagan versus the vision of Barack Obama. Bob says it is full of some interesting stuff to chew on and gives it a 4 out 5 rating. You can get reviews of all movies in theaters at http://www.pluggedin.com/.

-John had some very positive comments for a movie called The Grace Card that he screened this week. It opens nationwide on February 25th. You can see the trailer at http://www.thegracecardmovie.com/.

-Casting Crowns, MercyMe and tobyMac have been nominated for Favorite Contemporary Inspirational Artist at the American Music Awards. You can vote for your favorite at

-The Augusta Riverhawks open their very first season of ice hockey tonight at 7:30 at the James Brown Arena. http://www.augustariverhawks.com/

-John recently chatted with Livia Satterfield, the recipient of an Operation Christmas Child shoebox in Romania. Watch the video and hear how this shoebox changed her life. You'll find it at www.wafj.com/videos.

-Coming up Monday...Cleve returns from vacation. You'll have a chance to win a day with your family at Kackleberry Farm in Louisville. Listen to win during the Monday Morning Mindbender at 6:10 and the Cheapie of the Week at 7:40. Also, we have the inside scoop on the Winter Jam 2011 lineup. You'll hear it here, first, at 7:10.
