Things We Talked About Today

-Join those who are saluting the special vets in their lives on the 88.3 WAFJ Facebook page.

-Businesses and restaurants are offering discounts to veterans today and over the next few days. See the list

-The folks who are sailing on the Music Boat Cruise with some of 88.3 WAFJ's artists are glad they're not on the Carnival Splendor, which is not so-splendid at the moment. Read why

-The Salvation Army's Kettle campaign kicks off today. John and Cleve are ringing bells at the Kroger on Washington Road at National Hills today from 12 noon til 2 PM. Volunteers are needed to man kettles and ring bells all around the CSRA. Get more information at http://www.salvationarmyaugusta.org/.

-We thought Chris Tomlin was a quiet, reserved guy off stage, but check out his appearance in a video about the "bowl" haircut. See the video

-Eighty-two year old Russell Quarles is the latest winner of the Living Well Award. It is presented by us, along with our Living Well Partners including WJBF Newschannel 6, The Augusta Chronicle and Doctors Hospital. Russell has been surviving prostate cancer for going on 20 years and has been giving back to help others who have been where he was.
