-If you're in need of a seasonal job, the Augusta Greenjackets will be looking for folks to fill various positions during a job fair on Saturday from 10 AM to 12 PM at Lake Olmstead Stadium. You can also audition to sing the National Anthem during those hours. Read more

-A Newsboys song from several years back, "City to City", will be featured in the trailer for Cars 2 and in the movie itself.

-The Harlem Globetrotters are in town tonight at 7:00 at the James Brown Arena. There's a coupon for $7 off tickets in today's Augusta Chronicle.

-Free Dessert at Starbucks: Today through Saturday are Tribute Days at Starbucks, as they celebrate their 40th anniversary. When you buy a beverage, you can get one of their new "petites" for free. -Jason and Chris from 33Miles are visiting radio stations this week. They stopped by to visit with John and Cleve and give a live performance of "Arms That Hold the Universe."

-Our Augusta Riverhawks have made it into the SPHL playoffs in their inaugural year! Tickets go on sale on Monday. There's still some time to catch them in regular season play at the James Brown Arena with 4 home games remaining.

-Ted Williams, the golden-voiced homeless man, says he did "too much, too fast" after all of the media attention his story received. It sent him back to his old ways and into rehab. Now, Ted is spending time reconnecting with Jesus. Watch the Today show interview

Simple Cooking - Crockpot Tenderloin Tips


1 lb. tenderloin tips

1 can mushroom soup

1 pkg. onion soup mix

1/2 c. water

Egg Noodles or rice

Combine ingredients in crock pot. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Serve over noodles or rice cooked separately.

Morning Show Notes - Wednesday, March 9th


-The official trailer for Courageous, the latest movie from the makers of Facing the Giants and Fireproof, is now available online at http://www.courageousthemovie.com/. You'll have to wait a while to see it, though. Courageous opens on September 30th nationwide.

-Wanda Weeks made us laugh this morning with a fast food joke. She'll be sitting in the VIP section at Girls Night Out with Anita Renfroe and Mandisa. Listen to the joke

-Charlie Sheen has been in the headlines lately for his bizarre behavior. While he's been the butt of many jokes, we see him as a man in need of a Savior, just like all of us. With Charlie in mind, we talked about what you do when a loved one is self-destructing before your eyes. Join the conversation on the 88.3 WAFJ Facebook page.

-While a lot of us are upset about gas prices, John is more concerned about his safety at the gas pump. Lately, he's seen a lady pumping gas with her car still running and two different guys smoking near the gas pump. Signs prohibiting this are clearly posted at the pumps. He's had to bite his tongue to keep from saying anything, although in one instance he did rat out a smoker to the gas station attendant. Betsy believes the signs are merely suggestions. Listen

-The new show Secret Millionaire debuted on ABC last night. During each episode, a millionaire spends a week living in poverty to learn what life is like for the less fortunate. The millionaire forms relationships and looks for non-profits organizations and families that could benefit from their generosity. Last night's millionaire was Dani Johnson, who went from living on welfare at 17 to being a millionaire at 23. She has some neat ideas about giving, that apply no matter how much money you make.
