-You've probably heard about the group proclaiming that Jesus Christ will return to earth on May 21st. The Bible tells us no one knows the day or the hour, not even Jesus himself (Matthew 26). Despite their error, this is a good conversation starter with those who don't know Christ. Read more

-Augusta's next big retail store is...Costco! The city gave final approval to site plans and paved the way for construction. Read more

-MAU is hosting a job fair today until 4 pm at the Jameson Suites in Augusta. They are hiring for industrial positions around the CSRA. Read more

-There's a move toward self-service in our society, especially in grocery stores, home improvement stores and banks. McDonald's in Europe is even looking at replacing cashiers with kiosks. Simple Cooking - Easy Fruit Dessert


1 can cherry pie filling (or your favorite flavor)
1 can crushed pineapple in HEAVY syrup
1 box yellow cake mix – NOT PUDDING
2 sticks Margarine melted
½ cup sugar

Mix pie filling and pineapple with ½ cup sugar and put in 9 x 12 dish. Crumble entire box of cake mix on top. Pour melted butter over cake mix.

Cook 350 degrees for 1 hour (it will be browning and bubbling)

-Just when we thought there were too many reality shows, Cleve stumbled across one called Swamp People. He loves the Cajun accents.

-John's birthday was Saturday and this morning he mentioned all the freebies that he received from various merchants including free dinner, free dessert and a free haircut. All it required was signing up on their e-mail lists. Several others shared birthday freebies with us and you can see the list on the 88.3 WAFJ Facebook page. -Over the last week, we've seen a wave of robberies in places we might not expect in Augusta. Ladies shopping in and around the Augusta Mall mall should be especially wary of a female pickpocket who is on the loose. Read more

-Last week, John and Cleve drove to Atlanta for a business trip. The refrigerant in John's car air conditioning went out while they were on the road. Cleve was afraid of melting in the heat on the ride home, so he volunteered to put the new refrigerant in the system. This made John a little nervous, so he stood back several feet from the hood of the car. All the while, Cleve forgot to read the directions and pull the tab off the neck of the can and spend several minutes trying unsuccessfully to get it to work.
