Morning Show Notes - Thursday, July 21st


-The Space Shuttle Atlantis landed safely just before 6 AM today. This brings the 30 year space shuttle program to an end. In case you missed the landing, click here to watch the video. Once it is deemed safe for the public, Atlantis will be on display at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

-Augusta enters the world of 4G internet today as Verizon starts making it available to subscribers.

-Christ Community Health Services provides health care in Jesus name, and they're getting a bigger home on Greene Street in Augusta. Read more

-Jeremy Camp tells his life story, including the loss of his first wife, in a new book called I Sill Believe that comes out in September. Read more

Morning Show Notes - Wednesday, July 20th


-Cleve is hearing things again. Last week he heard his wife's voice in the grocery store while she was out of town on business. This week, he's hearing what sounds like a high-powered sprinkler noise in the trees around his house. He suspects it is some sort of critter. What could it be? -The Space Shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to land at 5:56 AM tomorrow at Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This will mark the end of the space shuttle program.

-American Idol auditions are happening today through Friday in Charleston. Read more

-The Augusta Chronicle is hosting a Back to School Expo this Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM at Augusta State's Christenberry Fieldhouse. Read more

Simple Cooking - Chicken and Dumplins


1 large can of chicken stock
2-3 cans of white chicken
2-3 cans of canned plain biscuits

Bring stock to boil, add chicken and biscuits, cook for 20 minutes stirring lightly. Add 1 cup of milk to thicken! Let simmer for 10-15 minutes.

-Job Fairs on Wednesday: Goodwill Industries is looking for full-time and part-time retail workers at their job fair from 9 AM to 12 PM at their new Aiken Career Campus, 1015 Pine Log Road in Aiken. MAU Workforce Solutions is filling 45 openings at industrial sites around the CSRA at their job fair from 9 AM to 4 PM at the Jameson Suites, 1062 Claussen Road in Augusta.

-High gas prices have many of us shopping for smaller, fuel-efficient cars. The best deals on these cars may be a couple of months away. Read more

-The library has always been a great place for kids to visit, but now we know why they should go there more often. Read more

-John and Cleve toured the Salvation Army of Augusta's Kroc Center yesterday and say the facility is beautiful. Free tours to the public are being offered at the beginning of every hours for the next several weeks. There will be a public open house on Saturday, August 6th.
