Things We Talked About Today

-The cold weather is a reminder of those who need warm clothing but don't have it. We're trying to change that with our Christmas Cheer Tour. We had a great response yesterday at our first stop in Evans, but we need it to continue. Bring your new or gently used warm clothing donations to Sunrise Grill, next to Big Lots, in North Augusta on Wednesday from 11 to 1.

-This morning, we pondered a recent finding. The average woman can stand their new pair of shoes for just 34 minutes before grimacing with pain. So, if that is the case, why do women wear shoes that hurt their feet? The resounding answer was that women are more interested in fashion, than the fit of the shoes. You can join the conversation on the 88.3 WAFJ Facebook page.

-Matt Hammitt of Sanctus Real, along wife his wife Sarah, told the miraculous story of their baby Bowen to millions last week on ABC's World News Tonight. See the video

-There are plenty of opportunities to celebrate Christmas with your family over the next few days. The City of Sylvania has their Christmas Extravaganza downtown tonight from 5 to 8. They'll have food samples from all over Screven County, along with crafts and the Statesboro Blues Band. Aiken is lighting their Christmas tree tomorrow night at 6:30 at the corner of Laurens and Richland. The City of Augusta has the parade and light-up spectacular downtown on Saturday afternoon. Columbia County has The Christmas in America Festival on Saturday at the ampitheater and a parade on Sunday.

Coming up Friday...Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is in Augusta for the next several days to build a new home for a deserving family. Their identity will be revealed this afternoon and we'll have the details tomorrow morning. Travis McNeal from the Golden Harvest Food Bank will tell us how you can help with their Extreme Dream where Everyone Eats! At 7:10, our movie guy, Bob Waliszewksi from Focus on the Family will tell us about two made for TV movies coming on this weekend. We have another Backstage Pass Friday coming up in the 8 AM hour.
