Simple Cooking - Western Skillet Dinner


1 lb ground beef
1 envelope Lipton Dry Onion or Beefy Onion Soup Mix (I use the regular one)
1 1/2 cup water
3/4 cup uncooked rice
1 can (16 oz) stewed or diced tomatoes
1 (8 oz) bag shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Optional: 1-2 Tbsp Chili Powder or other hot sauce to give it a kick

In large skillet, brown ground beef; drain. Stir in Lipton Onion Soup Mix, water, rice and tomatoes. Simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 25 minutes or until rice is tender; serve topped with cheese.
