Things We Talked About Today

-The extraction of the 33 trapped miners in Chile began last night and continues throughout today. The rescue chamber fits in a hole the size of a manhole, so it's a very tight fit for these miners. They are so far underground that it equals twice the height of the Empire State Building! The problem is that if one rock gets in the way, the rescue could have a major problems. Please pray for continued success during this rescue.

-We're looking for 4, 5 and 6 year olds to be the World's Smallest Christmas Carolers. The deadline to enter is October 22nd at http://www.wafj.com/.

-Voter guides are available for the upcoming November 2nd elections. For Georgia, visit http://www.georgiafamily.org/voters-guide-home. For South Carolina, visit http://www.palmettofamily.org/Alliance.asp.

-John wasn't going to play McDonald's Monopoly this year, but after someone gave him two game pieces, the urge hit. Cleve can't believe such a frugal guy is wasting his money on a lost cause. John is off to a great start with two of the three yellow properties. If you have Ventnor Avenue, he's willing to split the $25,000 with you!

-Music artist and author Tammy Trent joined us this morning. She will be speaking at the Women's Community Event on Saturday, October 23rd at Warren Baptist Church. She lost her husband the day before America was attacked on September 11th and has a story to tell about God's faithfulness and goodness. Listen to our conversation: Part 1 Part 2
Get tickets for the event at http://www.trinityonthehill.net/.

Coming up Thursday...Jennie Montgomery, WJBF Newschannel 6 anchor, joins us at 7:10 AM to talk about the Health and Wellness Expo they're hosting on Saturday. There will be hundreds of dollars worth of free health screenings offered. At 8:40, we'll talk more in-depth about one very important screening for women...the mammogram. Dr. Joe Wilson joins us for that in our monthly Living Well series.
